Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol season finale a new alliance means trouble for Daryl & Carol
By Renee Hansen
The second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has quickly advanced through five of six episodes. The season, subtitled The Book of Carol, saw the return of Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier, a character first introduced in season 1 of The Walking Dead, as she searched for her best friend Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus). The penultimate episode was an emotional roller coaster leading to the season finale on Nov. 3.
Tread lightly, as this article contains spoilers for season 2 eps. 1-5 of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol.
In episode 5, Daryl loses Isabelle, kills Losang (Joel de la Fuente), and reunites with Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi). He also helps Carol search for Ash (Manish Dayal), and she admits her lie to Ash, which, understandably, angers him. There are several fantastic fight scenes, and Codron (Romain Levi) continues his transformation into a good guy. Daryl reunites with Anna (Lukerya Ilyashenko), who now runs the Demimond.
The season finale is titled "Au Revoir Les Enfants," which translates to "Goodbye, children." The trailer for the episode (below) reveals that any assistance Daryl received from Anna was self-serving, as she will conspire with Jacinta (Nassima Benchicou). They plan to find the boy for Jacinta, and in return, Anna gets Ash's (Manish Dayal) plane. This means Daryl and Carol's plan to flee France will become even more complicated.
During the previous episode, Daryl and Carol's plan to fly back to America with Ash and Laurent comes to an abrupt halt when Ash tells them the plane cannot take off with four passengers. The trailer features Carol telling Daryl she will stay behind to ensure he and Laurent get home. In another clip, Daryl reminds a teary-eyed Carol, "We keep going, that's what we do."
