Disney's Skeleton Crew, starring Walking Dead's Kerry Condon, gets new release date

The latest addition to the Star Wars franchise is a coming-of-age saga set in the Mandalorian time frame.

Walking Dead actress Kerry Condon's (Clara in season 4) most recent projects include the supernatural horror Night Swim and the dark comedy The Banshees of Inisherin. Next, Condon will enter a galaxy far, far, away, starring in Disney's new Star Wars series, Skeleton Crew.

Disney originally the premiere for Star Wars: The Skeleton Crew, created by Jon Watts and Christopher Ford, as Dec. 3, but has recently updated that to Dec. 2. Fans will be able to see the first two episodes of the highly anticipated series one day early. The eight-part series will premeire at 6 p.m. PT, with the remaining episodes released weekly on Tuesday through to the season finale in Jan. 2025.

BAFTA award-winning Jude Law plays Jod Na Nawood, a man who uses the Force to charm his way out of challenging situations. Condon stars with Tunde Adebimpe, Jaleel White, and Nick Frost as the droid SM 33's voice. The story focuses on many young characters who are played by
Ravi Cabot-Conyers (Wim), Kyriana Kratter (KB), Robert Timothy Smith (Neel) and Ryan Kiera Armstrong (Fern).

The official synopsis for Skeleton Crew gives a good idea of what viewers can expect from the series. When four kids make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, they get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Finding their way home, meeting unlikely allies and enemies will be a greater adventure than they ever imagined.

Watts directs two episodes, with David Lowery, The Daniels (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert), Jake Schreier, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Lee Issac Chung also directing. Watts and Ford serve as the series' main writers and executive producers, along with Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Kathleen Kennedy, and Colin Wilson. Chris Buongiorno, Karen Gilchrist, and Carrie Beck co-executive produce, with Susan McNamara and John Bartnicki also producing.

Condon is a BAFTA award-winning actress known for her roles in Unleashed and In the Land of Saints and Sinners. Next, she will star in the motorsports drama F1, that will be released on June 25, 2025, a war drama Pressure, and Train Dreams.
