The Walking Dead ended its 11-season run back in November 2022, yet the show continues to resonate with fans even after all this time. Besides being an incredible show in itself, a significant reason why it remains relevant today is because the franchise is still ongoing. With multiple spinoffs, the Walking Dead universe has continued to expand, delivering new stories, exploring fresh characters, and even continuing the tales of fan-favorites from the original series.

There are currently six main Walking Dead spinoffs. However, as with any sprawling franchise, not every one lands perfectly, and they can often be hit or miss. In fact, there are a few spinoffs that struggled to capture the essence of what made the original series so gripping. They fell short in both their storytelling and pacing. Another issue is that they failed to establish characters compelling enough to carry their own narratives. Yes, we're talking about you, World Beyond.

On the other hand, other spinoffs also had their flaws. But these flaws weren't big enough to overshadow their strengths. One such show is Fear the Walking Dead. Fans absolutely loved the first three seasons of this AMC series, but the show's trajectory took a turn as it continued. However, Fear the Walking Dead is still considered by many to be one of the best Walking Dead spinoffs, regardless of its ups and downs.

If you're a fan of this beloved zombie series, Nov. 19 is a date you’ll definitely want to mark on your calendar this year. It's a really special day for the show, and you'll be disappointed if you just let it pass on by. So, what exactly is happening on this exciting date?

November 19 marks two years since the Fear the Walking Dead series finale aired on AMC

It’s hard to believe that in just a little over a week, it will be two years since Fear the Walking Dead took its final bow. On Nov. 19, 2023, AMC aired the series finale of this long-running spinoff, officially bringing an end to an eight-season journey that thrilled fans, divided opinions, and expanded the Walking Dead universe in bold new ways.

When the show first premiered back in 2015, few could have predicted the path it would take. What began as a slow-burning companion series meant to explore the earliest days of the zombie apocalypse quickly evolved into something entirely its own. It managed to carve out a distinct identity within the Walking Dead universe, introducing a cast of unforgettable characters and even bringing back an OG from the original series that bridged the gap between the familiar and the new.

Now, as we approach the 2-year anniversary of the final episode, it’s impossible not to look back with a mix of nostalgia and respect. Fear the Walking Dead may have stumbled at times, but it still delivered an expansion of the Walking Dead universe that will be remembered for years to come.

In our opinion, the best way to celebrate this milestone is by having a rewatch party of the series finale with friends and/or family. Perhaps, you could even create a mini-marathon of the most iconic episodes as well to make the celebration even more special. Whatever way you choose to do it, the most important part is to enjoy the experience.

Fear the Walking Dead is available to stream on AMC+ and Netflix.
