When The Walking Dead first hit our screens back in 2010, no one could’ve guessed that it would redefine television as we knew it. What started as a modest adaptation of Robert Kirkman’s comic series quickly grew into something much bigger. Due to all of its success, AMC knew that the right thing to do was to expand this universe with multiple spinoffs.
One of its most popular and arguably most beloved is The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. It’s not hard to see why. Daryl has always been one of the most compelling characters in The Walking Dead universe. From the moment he appeared on screen, crossbow in hand and a mix of anger and vulnerability in his eyes, fans instantly connected with him. AMC giving Daryl a spinoff was a great and wise move.
Three seasons of Daryl Dixon have come out so far, and a fourth and final season is officially in the works. In fact, the cameras are currently rolling on the new installment. While an official release date for Daryl Dixon season 4 hasn't been set yet, it has been confirmed that it will be released sometime in 2026.
That said, we need something to do to keep ourselves busy in the meantime. The good news? There are many incredible shows that can fill the void while we wait. Below, we've shared a good list of four gripping zombie series to watch.

Let's be honest. No spinoff will ever compare to the original series, but Fear the Walking Dead proved that it can be successful on its own terms. It proved that it could take risks, tell new stories, and develop characters who stand out in their own right, all while staying true to the tense, emotional world that fans know and love.
Imagine waking up one day and realizing the world you know is suddenly overrun by zombies. Yup, the apocalypse has officially begun, and you didn’t even get a heads-up. That’s where Fear the Walking Dead comes in. This show takes you back to the very beginning of the chaos, when society is still figuring out how to survive the unimaginable.
The first three seasons revolve around Madison Clark, a high school guidance counselor, along with her strong-willed daughter Alicia, her resourceful yet troubled son Nick, and a diverse group of survivors as they traverse a world falling apart around them. In the fourth season, we're reintroduced to an OG Walking Dead character, Morgan Jones, who crosses paths with the group in Texas.

If you haven’t yet experienced Kingdom on Netflix, you are in for one of the most thrilling, intense, and action-packed rides in modern television. It's a Korean zombie series set in the medieval Joseon period.
The story centers on Lee Chang, the Crown Prince of Joseon, who sets out to uncover the cause of a mysterious illness striking the King, only to become entangled in a devastating epidemic sweeping across the kingdom. As he struggles to protect his people from the deadly zombie plague, he must also contend with rivals scheming to usurp the throne.
The Walking Dead: Dead City (2023-)

It wouldn't be right to have a list about zombie shows to watch and not include another fan-favorite Walking Dead spinoff. The Walking Dead: Dead City brings back two of the franchise’s most iconic and complex characters, Maggie and Negan, and thrusts them into a post-apocalyptic Manhattan.
Fueled by the urgent need to save her kidnapped son, Hershel, Maggie faces not only the relentless hordes of the undead but also the unpredictable and often merciless threats posed by other survivors. Negan joins her on this perilous journey.
Zomvivor (2025)

Zomvivor is the only new zombie show on this list, and it'll easily remind you of the popular Korean series All of Us Are Dead with the whole zombie outbreak taking place in a school setting. However, the main difference is that it's a Thai show. The plot revolves around a group of students who suddenly find themselves trapped inside their university as a mysterious virus rapidly spreads, turning classmates and teachers into ravenous zombies.
There are seven episodes in total in the first season. In addition, a second season is reportedly in the works. So, there’s plenty to binge and even more to look forward to!
