It's the holiday season, time to watch Love Actually starring Walking Dead's Andrew Lincoln, where is it streaming?
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead's Andrew Lincoln is best known for his role as Rick Grimes, but prior to that role, he had another iconic one. In 2003, Lincoln and an ensemble British cast starred in Love Actually, a Christmas rom-com with mixed reviews but still has a solid fan base.
Love Actually came from the brilliant mind of Richard Curtis, who is known for a long list of well-loved rom-coms, including Four Weddings and a Funeral, Notting Hill, and the Bridget Jones series of films. The film follows ten different storylines, beginning five weeks before Christmas with a weekly countdown to the holiday and an epilogue in the New Year.
The modern-day Christmas classic mixes heartache, humor, and holiday cheer. While the movie is looked at in a negative light by some, it is a beloved story that many include in their holiday mus- watch list. Fans of the movie like that it shows flawed characters who, in many cases, experience life events not uncommon to things they've experienced.
In addition to Lincoln, the movie also stars Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Laura Linney, Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman, Keira Knightley, Martine McCutcheon, Bill Nighy, Rowan Atkinson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Billy Bob Thornton as the President of the United States.
Lincoln portrays Mark, a man who has long hidden his love for his best friend's wife, Juliet, played by Keira Knightley. One winter night, he appears at their flat to confess his love with a series of cue cards, a scene that has been spoofed numerous times, including this outrageous bit from Saturday Night Live.
Watch the official trailer for Love Actually below. The movie is currently streaming on Prime Video and can be rented or purchased on AppleTV.
This movie is one that I always include in my holiday viewing list, but I can appreciate the humor in Screen Junkies' Honest Review of the movie. It is a hilarious take on a movie that has received criticism for what the trailer points out. The Rick Grimes mention is a highlight that will have Walking Dead fans rolling with laughter.
