It's been nearly half a decade since The Walking Dead TV series came to an end, but the franchise is more alive than ever (which is weird to say for a world in which the dead reign over the living). Not only will audiences witness new seasons of spinoffs The Walking Dead: Dead City and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon this year, but a new project set in this post-apocalyptic world will also come our way soon.
Developer Odaclick Game Studio unveiled The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival, an upcoming side-scrolling beat-'em-up title inspired by the events of the All Out War storyline. Players will be able to take control of fan-favorite TWD characters while they battle their way through hordes of walkers and face many terrifying bosses.
A playable demo for The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival is out now, with a full release scheduled for Fall 2026
Video game players worldwide can already get a (very small) taste of The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival courtesy of its official Steam demo. Furthermore, publisher Trailmark Games announced that a full release is scheduled for Fall 2026 for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival will feature three playable characters in the form of Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, and Michonne. Each one will have "unique fighting styles, stats, and signature abilities inspired by the series". Rick's main weapon will be his ever-reliable magnum, while Michonne will make full use of her katana, and Daryl is set to strike from afar with his crossbow.
The full release will have over ten levels, six boss fights, 19 weapons, and over 20 different types of enemies. Furthermore, the game's official description reveals that players will explore iconic landmarks from the TWD franchise, such as the Sanctuary and the Alexandria Safe Zone.
"Based on the events of the All Out War storyline, fight through a campaign that reimagines the Saviors conflict that features walkers, threats, and surprises pulled from across the world of AMC’s The Walking Dead. You’ll explore familiar environments from the show - including the Sanctuary, Hilltop, Alexandria – enhanced by dynamic set pieces, environmental hazards, and intense, story-driven moments."
The Saviors will also appear in The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival, with Negan and Simon acting as "multi-phase" boss battles (which means we finally have our chance to get some much-needed justice for Glenn). However, humans aren't the only concern in this post-apocalyptic world, as players will also fight against Winslow and the Bloated Well Walker seen in the second season of the hit AMC show.
Aside from featuring a main campaign, The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival will have a replayable Arcade Mode that has increasingly difficult levels "built for repeat runs and escalating challenges". However, an easy mode is also available to make the experience a bit more forgiving.
Yes, even after all these years, there is life in the TWD Universe, and we're ready to explore the world of the most famous post-apocalyptic franchise of the past two decades all over again in The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival when it arrives on our favorite platforms this year.
The Walking Dead: Streets of Survival will be released in Fall 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
