You can pretty much ask anyone what the best zombie show of all time is, and chances are, The Walking Dead will come up every single time. For over a decade, this groundbreaking series dragged us headfirst into a post-apocalyptic world teeming with danger, heartbreak, and shocking twists that kept viewers on the edge of their seats episode after episode. It wasn't just a story about the undead. It was about survival, humanity, and the bonds that formed in the face of unimaginable terror.

It's been 15 years since the first episode aired on AMC, and yet the excitement, suspense, and emotional impact of The Walking Dead remain as potent as ever. Maybe it's the fact that the show gave us characters we fell in love with, hated, and rooted for with every fiber of our being. Or perhaps, it was the relentless walkers, the intense standoffs between survivors, or the moral dilemmas that forced us to question what we would do if faced with life-and-death decisions in a world gone mad.

Whatever the reason, The Walking Dead became more than just a television show. It’s a cultural phenomenon, a gripping, emotional, and terrifying journey that redefined what it means to tell stories about horror, survival, and humanity.

Now that it's officially November, we're coming up on a special day in the zombie franchise. If you're a true Walking Dead fan, you should already know exactly what’s coming. But if you don't, we're about to let you in on the secret.

November 20 marks the 3-year anniversary of The Walking Dead series finale

It's true, Walking Dead fans! On Nov. 20, 2022, the hit series that had kept us terrified, thrilled, and completely obsessed for over a decade aired its final, unforgettable episode. That means on Nov. 20, 2025, we’ll be marking the 3-year anniversary of that epic finale. It's crazy to think that in just a couple of weeks, it'll mean that three years have passed since we were last plunged into the heart-pounding, walker-filled world that had become such a huge part of our lives.

It just doesn't seem like it's been that long, and the memories are still so fresh. Fortunately, we haven't had to go through any real withdrawal since the world of The Walking Dead has continued to live on in its many spinoffs. But while it's been nice to see some of our favorite characters venture off on their own journeys, we'd be lying if we said we weren't hoping to see them all reunited.

We're seriously keeping our fingers crossed that this eventually happens. There's just no way we won't get to see Rick, Daryl, Michonne, Carol, and all the other surviving characters sharing the screen at least one last time. Please grant our wishes, AMC!

To celebrate the 3-year anniversary of The Walking Dead series finale, we strongly recommend revisiting the entire series from the very beginning. Sure, just watching the final episode might give you a flood of nostalgia, but experiencing the journey from start to finish is a completely different thrill.

The Walking Dead is available to stream on Netflix.
