True Crime Story: It Couldn't Happen Here began airing on AMC's Sundance Channel in 2021. Hosted by author and One Tree Hill and Walking Dead actress Hilarie Burton Morgan, the series is a deep dive into major crimes that have impacted small communities. Now, there is a companion podcast that looks even deeper into the crimes that have been highlighted in the series.

Small-town native and advocate Morgan is joined by key crew from the series in the podcast, which began airing in October 2023. The podcast features new information, a never-before-heard archive, and a behind-the-scenes look into how the series team tackles these heartbreaking stories.

""After listening to this podcast, you'll find yourself thinking twice about our series title, It Couldn't Happen Here. It can, and it does, more than you think." "

It Couldn't Happen Here and other True Crime Story series on SundanceTV

In March 2023, AMC renewed It Couldn't Happen Here and added more series to its True Crime Story franchise. The two new series are titled True Crime Story: Citizen Detective and Crimes of Entitlement. Both offer a unique perspective on new true crime stories.

True Crime has proven successful for the network as the first season of It Couldn't Happen Here provided crucial awareness to overlooked cases that helped secure freedom for Devonia Inman, who had been wrongfully imprisoned for 23 years.

True Crime Story: Citizen Detective will examine fascinating true crime stories from the eyes of amateur sleuths, some that they have solved, others still in the process. Each episode focuses on a new crime, and crime fighters determined to do their due diligence to close the case.

Crimes of Entitlement explores crimes where the criminals have little to gain but much to lose. This series looks into the lives of egotistical criminals who, with their sense of entitlement, plan and execute elaborate crimes. The question is, why do they do it? Crimes of Entitlement will feature a new crime in each episode and focus on the entitled criminal responsible.

Another series in the AMC True Crime franchise is the previously announced four-part limited series Look into My Eyes. This series tells the bizarre story of a beloved principal at North Port High School in Florida, Dr. George Kenney. It would be discovered that he used hypnosis on several students, and three students from his school died under mysterious circumstances. The premiere episode can be viewed for free on AMC's website, and the series can be binged on AMC+.
