Netflix KAOS series coming this summer starring Fear the Walking Dead's Cliff Curtis
By Renee Hansen
Actor Cliff Curtis is well known for many roles throughout his career including Travis on Fear the Walking Dead. This summer, Curtis will join Jeff Goldblum in a new Netflix series, KAOS.
This modern mythology story tells of Zeus (Goldblum), a powerful yet insecure god who, when he discovers his first wrinkle, believes this is a sign of the end of his reign. He isn't far off, as Prometheus, his one-time friend now prisoner, is plotting to take him down. Three mortals become involved with the gods, not realizing their own cosmic significance or the part they need to play if the world is to be saved.
Goldblum is joined by Curtis, who will portray Poseidon and David Thewlis as Hades, Zeus' brothers. Janet McTeer will play his plotting wife, Hera, and Nabhaan Rizwan will play Dionysus, his rebellious son.
Additional cast includes Killian Scott as Orpheus, Aurora Perrineau as Riddy, Misia Butler as Caneus, Leila Farzad as Ari, Rakie Ayola as Persephone, and Stanley Townsend as Minos. Billie Piper and Suzy Eddie Izzard will have cameo roles.
KAOS will premiere on the streamer on August 29, 2024.
Netflix shared some first-look images of the series on social media.
KAOS was created and written for Netflix by Charlie Covell, known for the YA series End of the F***ing World, which won two BAFTAS. Georgi Banks-Davies and Runyararo Mapfumo direct the series, which is produced by Harry Munday. Georgia Christou wrote episode 6, and Jane Featherstone, Chris Fry, Katie Carpenter, Banks-Davies, Nine Lederman, Tanya Seghatchian, and John Woodward serve as executive producers.
Cliff Curtis - other roles
Curtis is well known for his role as Travis Manawa in seasons 1-3 of Fear the Walking Dead, the first spinoff of AMC's The Walking Dead. Fans were saddened when he was killed off in season 3 as Travis was a fan-favorite.
He is also known for Reminiscence, Murina, Doctor Sleep, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, Gang Related, Missing, Trauma, and more. He portrayed James "Mac" Mackreides in The Meg (2018) and Meg 2: The Trench (2023), and Tonowari in Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) and the upcoming Avatar movies, with the third movie scheduled for release in 2025.
Curtis has been cast in the AppleTV+ Hawaiian historical drama Chief of War, created by Thomas Pa'a Sibbett and Jason Momoa, who also stars and executive produces.
Don't miss KAOS on Netflix beginning August 29.
