New release date for A24 Civil War, World Beyond actress Alexa Mansour part of cast

Actress Alexa Mansour portrayed Hope Bennett in the limited two-season spinoff The Walking Dead: World Beyond. This was the second spinoff of The Walking Dead, which has ties to the newly released The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live. Her next project will be the A24 dystopian action film Civil War.

Civil War is an A24 production directed by 28 Days Later and Sunshine writer Alex Garland, who previously directed Ex Machina and Annihilation. It was recently announced that the movie will push up its theatrical release date to April 12, 2024, with its world premiere being held on March 14 at SXSW.

Garland has described the film as a companion to the A24 film Men, which he directed. In an interview with The Daily Telegraph he stated the story “an indeterminate point in the future…and serves as a sci-fi allegory for our currently polarised predicament”.

The trailer shows that America has fallen and Civil War has been declared between the American government and the Western Forces, led by Texas and California. The war affects the entire nation, and the story follows a group of journalists traveling across the country as they attempt to survive with the US government which has become a dystopian dictatorship and extremists commit war crimes.

The logline reads: “A race to the White House in a near-future America balanced on the razor’s edge.”
