Many fans were disappointed that the second season of Prime Video's Invincible was released in two parts after a long wait in between seasons. The reception of the second season has been overwhelmingly positive, with the season earning a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Social media accounts for Invincible revealed new information for the upcoming season. The return will be much sooner than anticipated, which is great news for viewers. The wait time between seasons will be shorter than the previous wait, and the voice acting is complete. Other tidbits shared for season 3 include the return of Battle Beast (Michael Dorn) and Titan ( Mahershala Ali), and the post jokingly adds that Invincible, portrayed by Walking Dead's Steven Yeun, will also return.

The series, based on the groundbreaking comic book by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, follows Mark Grayson, who, at the beginning of the story, is 17 years old and begins to develop his superpowers as Invincible. He is guided in his newly aquired powers by his father Nolan, who happens to be Omni-Man (J.K. Simons), the most powerful superhero on the planet.

In the beginning, Mark struggles to balance his superhero and personal life as he longs to prove he is the hero that his father is. As things progress, he learns some hard truths that will change his life forever.

Invincible also stars Sandra Oh, as Mark's mother, Debbie along with the following:

  • Zazie Beetz (Amber Bennett)
  • Grey DeLisle (Shrinking Rae)
  • Chris Diamantopoulos (Doc Seismic)
  • Walton Goggins (Cecil Stedman)
  • Gillian Jacobs (Atom Eve)
  • Jason Mantzoukas (Rex Splode)
  • Ross Marquand (Immortal)
  • Khary Payton (Black Samson)
  • Zachary Quinto (Rudy Connors)
  • Andrew Rannells (William Clockwell)
  • Kevin Michael Richardson (Mauler Twins)
  • Seth Rogen (Allen the Alien)

Newcomers in season 2 include Sterling K. Brown, Peter Cullen, Rob Delaney, Calista Flockhart, Phil LaMarr, Luke MacFarlane, Tatiana Maslany, Scott McNairy, Jay Pharoah, Ella Purnell, Tim Robinson, Ben Schwartz, Rhea Seehorn, Lea Thompson, Paul F. Tompkins, Shantel VanSanten, and more.

The series has been praised for its animation, performances, and writing. Invincible is innovative as it tries to break the mold as far as what is expected of an animated series, teen dramas, and the superhero genre.
