The Ones Who Live: Rick and Michonne's love might not be passionate, but it's true love
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live will premiere on AMC and AMC+ on February 25, 2024. This will be preceded by the Best of Michonne and the Best of Rick special episodes featuring some of the most amazing moments of these two characters.
It's been said that these characters just don't have enough romantic chemistry. But I beg to differ. While these two characters didn't meet with a "love at first sight" type of love, theirs is built on a friendship of survival that leads to mutual respect and admiration that eventually leads to true love.
Look at Michonne's eyes in the teasers when she talks about being parted from her love for so long. Those are tears of a heart breaking at being parted from its true match. Their love grew over time, and their mutual love for Carl and Judith also brought them together.
It is amazing in this day that someone can question the validity of the love between two people that has grown during a time of uncertainty. They must wake each day to fight for their lives and those of the people they love.
Add to that, each love story is different. Just because someone's love story isn't a hot passionate affair, doesn't mean the love isn't built on a solid foundation.
Rick and Michonne will return in The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live and fight for their love. They will fight to return to their children and fight for the love shared between them.
Don't miss The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, which premieres on AMC and AMC+ on February 25.
