The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live has the opportunity to solve one TWD mystery
By Renee Hansen
The Walking Dead universe does a great job ignoring characters when they never appear again. Fear the Walking Dead did this recently with three beloved characters during its final season. The main series has done this several times, with one such character, Heath's (Corey Hawkins) disappearance, being featured in the storyline but never mentioned again. The Ones Who Live can give insight into his disappearance, and here's how.
In season 7, Heath and Tara (Alanna Masterson) embark on a two-week scavenging run, and he comes up missing without a trace. When Tara returns without Heath and the RV, no one asks what happened.
Showrunner Angela Kang would later share that Heath was captured and traded to the CRM (Civic Republic Military) by Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh). This was a practice she and her Scavengers had been doing for years in return for supplies.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live - What happened to Heath?
In the Rick and Michonne series, The Ones Who Live, creators have an opportunity to reveal Heath's fate. Was he used as a test subject? Inscribed into the Military? Whatever the case, it would be a great nod to the character and the actor who portrayed him.
In The Walking Dead: World Beyond Jadis would reappear, this time as Warrant Officer Jadis Stokes. After trading Rick to the CRM she would work her way up the chain of command to her current postion. It is interesting that she uses Father Gabriel's (Seth Gilliam).
McIntosh will reprise her role as Jadis once again where she will be featured in The Ones Who Live where viewers will finally learn what happened to Rick and perhaps Heath.
The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live premieres on AMC and AMC+ on February 25,2024.
