Actress Karen Ceesay is known for her role in Stranger Things as Mrs. Sue Sinclair; who can forget that amazing 80s hair? She is also known for her portrayal of Bertie, a supply runner of the Hilltop Colony, in The Walking Dead series. Next, Ceesay has a role in the upcoming movie Suncoast.

Directed by Laura Chinn, Suncoast is based on her life experiences from the 2000s. In her feature directorial debut, Chinn tells a semi-autobiographical coming-of-age story that chronicles a young woman who must deal with the challenges of her brother's serious illness.

Suncoast, featuring The Last of Us actress Nico Parker and Oscar nominees Laura Linney and Woody Harrelson, premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival. The movie will see a limited theatrical release on February 2 and on Hulu on February 9.

Doris (Parker) tries to live an average teenage life, but this is complicated by her brother's illness, which requires much attention. As Doris' mother, Linney is entirely consumed by ensuring her son is comfortable in what might be his last days. Doris befriends an eccentric activist (Harrelson) protesting a crucial medical case in US history.

The movie also stars Ella Anderson, Daniella Taylor, Amarr, Ariel Martin, Cree Kawa, Pam Dougherty, Matt Walsh, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Scott McArthur, Danielle Henchfliffe and Karen Ceesay as Evelyn Green.

Ceesay recently posted a reel of the project she was involved in in 2023. Due to the strikes, she was unable to promote most of these, so take a look below. She reprised her role as Mrs. Sinclair in season 4 of Stranger Things, starred in Young Rock, and secured her first Tyler Perry production in Tyler Perry's Young Dylan.
