Walking Dead universe photographer Gene Page shares The Ones Who Live BTS
By Renee Hansen
Many fans of The Walking Dead get a thrill from seeing behind-the-scenes images, which many of the photographers are keen to share on social media. One such cameraman is Gene Page, a photographer who has captured some iconic images of TWDU.
Page shared his joy of working with Michael Satrazemis again on The Ones Who Live set in episodes 5 and 6. He has worked with Satrazemis for years, stating it was good to work with "Mikey" again, who is a "long-time fellow camera, director of photography buddy." He also shared that a summer camp for city kids in Western New Jersey is where much of episode 5 was filmed.
He shared images of Pollyanna McIntosh, Andrew Lincoln, and Danai Gurira in action sequences during the episode. He was happy to work with Seth Gilliam again, who appeared in an unexpected cameo as Father Gabriel. He was featured in flashbacks where he and Jadis (McIntosh) visited to break away from their lives for a while.
In 1993, Page worked with Gilliam on Heading Home, the first film he was hired to shoot still of. The movie also stars Mary Alice, Frankie Faison, and Allison Janney.
Below are some great images from episode 3 that was filmed in a state park and under the streets of Newark in old tunnels with eery lighting.
Over the years, Page has captured some truly iconic images of our favorite Walking Dead universe characters. Check out his portfolio of amazing images from TV and movies. As you browse through, you will recognize many noteworthy moments of TWDU, and Page was there to witness them all. Below are just a few of my favorite Gene Page photos from TWD.
