Watch Walking Dead's Dan Fogler in the new Netflix original Eric, starring Benedict Cumberbatch

Actor, comedian, and writer Dan Fogler is well known for his roles in The Walking Dead, The Offer, Fantastic Beasts, and more. He also stars in the new Netflix original series Eric which premieres on May 30.

Eric is an emotional thriller that was created by BAFTA and Emmy Award winner Abi Morgan,
directed by Lucy Forbes, and produced by Holly Pullinger. Set in 1980s New York, the story follows a man named Vincent whose son goes missing while on his way to school and the downward spiral he experiences while desperately trying to bring his son home.

Vincent, portrayed by Oscar nominee Benedict Cumberbatch, is a leading puppeteer on New York's popular children's series Good Day Sunshine. He harbors much guilt over his son's disappearance, becomes distressed, and exhibits destructive behavior that affects his relationships with his family, co-workers, and the detectives looking for his son. He clings to a drawing his son made of a blue monster, Eric, and believes his son will return if he creates a puppet of Eric and features him on the show.

Cumberbatch is joined by McKinley Belcher III, who plays a detective skilled in missing person cases; Gaby Hoffmann plays Vincent's wife, Cassie, with Ivan Howe as Edgar, Vincent, and Cassie's son. Additional cast includes Roberta Colindrez, Jeff Hephner, Mark Gillis, Clarke Peters, Pheobe Nicholls, David Denman, and more.

Fogler portrays Lennie, Vincent's best friend and colleague. A talented puppeteer in his own right, Lennie, a committed bachelor, has a special bond with Edger, who frequently visited the Good Day Sunshine workshop.

Walking Dead fans recognize Fogler for his role as Luke, who was introduced in season 9. He and his group join the communities, and for a brief period, it looked like Luke's fate would be a mystery as he wasn't featured in the story. During the final episodes of the series, Luke returns only to die from a Walker bite and blood loss. He is surrounded by his group in an emotional death scene.

In 2005, Fogler, in his Broadway debut, portrayed William Barfée in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, a role he won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.

He is well known for his roles in Ball of Fury, Fantastic Beasts series of films, Take Me Home Tonight, and Good Luck Chuck. He has showcased his voice acting skills in several animated films, Horton Hears a Who!, Mars Needs Moms, Kung Fu Panda, and Free Birds. In the 2014 film Don Peyote, Fogler wrote, directed, and starred, with supporting roles by Josh Duhamel, Anne Hathaway, and Topher Grace.

In 2022, Fogler portrayed Francis Ford Coppola in the Michael Tolkin miniseries The Offer, which streams on Paramount+. The series also stars Miles Teller, Matthew Goode, Giovanni Ribisi, Colin Hanks, Dan Fogler, Juno Temple, and Burn Gorman.

Fogler has also penned several graphic novels, Moon Lake (2010), Chapterhouse (2018), and Fishkill (2020).
