Fear the Walking Dead expanded The Walking Dead universe by opening up the story to include another region of the United States. Fear TWD began in 2015 and offered viewers a look at the onset of the outbreak in Los Angeles. The series ran for eight seasons, which concluded the story in 2023.

The final episode of the seventh season saw the return of fan-favorite Madison Clark (Kim Dickens), an event fans longed for. However, that was accompanied by the loss of Alycia Debnam-Carey, who portrayed Madison's daughter Alicia. This was remedied by the final episode of the series when the duo was finally reunited.

The final season was segmented into two six-episode parts; the first focused on crossover character Morgan Jones (Lennie James) who appeared in his final episode at the midseason finale. The series experienced a seven-year time jump in its final season, which brought the timeline almost in line with the flagship series. The back half of the final season saw Dickens take the spotlight as she battled against an old foe, Troy Otto (Daniel Sharman).

The series had taken a lot of harsh criticisms in its seven season which introduced a nuclear wasteland to the mix. It was a tough scenario to take and the series killed off new characters as quick as they were introduced. But the series featured a strong ending that satisfied most viewers.
