The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol season finale, when does it air on AMC and AMC+?
By Renee Hansen
AMC has renewed The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon for a third season that will see the main characters flee France for Spain. Filming for the upcoming season began in Spain in August 2024. That's the good news, the sad news is the second season, subtitled The Book of Carol will premiere its season finale very soon.
Season 2 of the Daryl Dixon spinoff featured the long-awaited return of Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier to TWDU. McBride began her portrayal of Carol in the third episode of The Walking Dead, "Tell It to the Frogs," the same episode that featured Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon for the first time.
Carol and Daryl have had quite the journey since the early days of the flagship series. Both have tragic backstories which have, over time, created a bond between them that can't be broken. Many fans have longed for a romance between the two but creators have stated, numerous times, that their relationship, while more than casual friends, has never been romantic.
The current season of Daryl Dixon has featured the depth of their friendship. When Carol discovered that Daryl had been shipped off to France, she stooped to a low viewers never thought they would see. She manipulated a man grieving the loss of his son into flying across the ocean to France in order to locate her best friend.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol season finale
Season 2, episode 6 "Au Revoir Les Enfants" - November 3, 2024
English translation: "Goodbye, children."
Directed by: Daniel Percival
Story by: Laura Snow
Teleplay by: Jason Richman & David Zabel
Synopsis: An exit strategy is charted from France
The season finale for The Book of Carol will feature an alliance between the new big bads, Anna (Lukerya Ilyashenko) and Jacinta (Nassima Benchicou), who make an agreement in the trailer below. This is after the two main villains, Genet (Anne Charrier) and Losang (Joel de la Fuente), were killed earlier in the season.
While this season was full of greatness, it is not as good as the first season of Daryl Dixon, likely because that was all brand new. Introducing Carol back into the story gave the season a nostaligic feel, but her inclusion, for some reason, meant that Isabelle had to die. Norman Reedus boldly stated, "I will say the finale of Season 2 is the best one-hour Walking Dead ever. I've said it in press before. I stick to it. It's mind-blowing." If this holds true, it will redeem the season.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon - The Book of Carol season finale airs on AMC and AMC+ on Nov. 3. Don't miss it!
