When you're talking about the best zombie series in television history, The Walking Dead should inevitably come to mind. For 11 incredible seasons, the hit post-apocalyptic horror drama delivered all the relentless action and gut-wrenching tension that kept viewers on the edge of their seats with their eyes glued to the screen. You seriously just had to be there!
With a show as successful as TWD, AMC knew that it had to capitalize on the craze by expanding the universe with various spinoffs. Those spinoffs are Fear the Walking Dead, World Beyond, Tales of the Walking Dead, Dead City, Daryl Dixon and The Ones Who Live. But I'm sure you've probably watched every single one, or at least caught up on most.
No worries! We've put together a good list of three more thrilling series that are just like the TWD shows, and shared it below. You most likely won't get through them in one weekend, but they’ll definitely keep you entertained for many binge-worthy nights ahead.

The Last of Us
The Last of Us isn’t exactly a traditional zombie show, but it incorporates many familiar zombie-like traits. Rather than the typical undead, it focuses on humans infected by a mutated fungus called Cordyceps, which transforms them into aggressive and hostile beings. These infected resemble zombies in their relentless and dangerous behavior, though they come with some distinctive fungal characteristics.
Like TWD, The Last of Us is a post-apocalyptic horror drama. It's based on the critically acclaimed video game franchise of the same name and stars Pedro Pascal as Joel, a tough and resourceful survivor tasked with escorting a young girl, Ellie, across a dangerous, infected-ravaged America. Bella Ramsey takes on the role of Ellie. The cast also includes Gabriel Luna, Isabela Merced, Young Mazino, Kaitlyn Dever, and many others.
There are two seasons so far, with the first season adapting the storyline of the original 2013 video game of the same title. Season 2 adapts the first half of the second video game, The Last of Us Part II. A third season is confirmed and is expected to start airing on HBO sometime in 2027. It will continue to adapt the second game.

All of Us Are Dead
I didn’t expect to get so hooked on a zombie show set in a high school, but All of Us Are Dead totally caught me off guard. With every episode, I was drawn deeper into the intense chaos and emotional struggles of the characters, unable to look away as their fight for survival became more desperate.
There's only one season so far, so the show is pretty easy to binge-watch in one sitting. A second season was announced back in June 2022, and production just recently got started in July 2025. We're probably looking at a release on Netflix sometime in 2026 or 2027.
After a deadly virus outbreak turns their classmates into zombies, a group of students must navigate terrifying obstacles and heartbreaking choices while trapped inside their school. The show's cast is made up of Park Ji-hu, Yoon Chan-young, Cho Yi-hyun, Lomon, and others.

Black Summer
You know those cancellations that you just can't get over? Black Summer is one of them for me. It had this gritty, intense vibe that really set it apart from other zombie shows. With every episode, there was nonstop tension and a relentless pace that made it impossible to look away. But unfortunately, Netflix decided to axe the series after just two seasons. However, don't let that deter you from watching. Black Summer still delivers everything a zombie fan could want!
The horror drama takes place during the early, chaotic days of a sudden zombie apocalypse. We follow a group of strangers, including a determined mother searching for her missing daughter, as they navigate a world overrun by the infected. With danger lurking around every corner, they must confront not only the undead but also the darkest sides of humanity in their desperate struggle to survive.
Jaime King, Justin Chu Cary, Christine Lee, Sal Velez Jr., Kelsey Flower, Erika Hau, Gwynyth Walsh, Mustafa Alabssi, Edsson Morales, Zoe Marlett, and many others make up the cast.
