The 2024 remake of Patrick Swayze's 1989 film Road House is getting a sequel. The sequel is being developed by Amazon MGM studios with Jake Gyllenhaal returning as former UFC Middleweight fighter Elwood Dalton. He will be joined by a Walking Dead actor who appeared in the fourth season.

According to Deadline, Aldis Hodge (Cross, Leverage Redemption), who portrayed Michonne's boyfriend Mike in season 4 of The Walking Dead, has been cast in the Road House sequel. Dave Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy) and Leila George (Animal Kingdom) have also joined the cast of the movie directed by Ilya Naishuller (Nobody) and written by Will Beall (Zach Snyder's Justice League). Producers for the film include Atlas Entertainment’s Charles Roven and Alex Gartner, and Nine Stories Productions’ Jake Gyllenhaal and Josh McLaughlin.

Details about Road House 2 have yet to be revealed. The previous film, directed by Doug Liman (Mr. & Mrs. Smith), followed Dalton, an ex-UFC fighter, after he takes a job at a Florida Keys roadhouse.

Cross
Aldis Hodge as Alex Cross

Hodge is well known for his work on Prime Video's Cross as the titular character Alex Cross. The series is based on the Alex Cross novels by James Patterson, and the series was renewed for a second season before the season 1 premiere. Hodge returns for the upcoming season with Isaiah Mustafa, and newcomers include Matthew Lillard, Wes Chatham, and Jeanine Mason. The new season doesn't follow a specific book in the series, but is said to delve deeper into the main characters' backstories.

The actor voices John Stewart / Green Lantern in the animated films Green Lantern: Beware My Power and the Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths series of films. He portrayed NFL player Jim Brown in the 2020 film One Night in Miami, a role for which he was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the NAACP Image Awards, and is well known for his role as Alex Hardison in TNT's Leverage series.

Next, Hodge will star in a thriller, The Dutchman, directed by Andre Gaines (The One and Only Dick Gregory), who co-wrote the film with Qasim Basir. Additional cast members include André Holland, Kate Mara, Zazie Beetz, Stephen McKinley Henderson, and Lauren E. Banks

His other notable roles include Parallel, also starring Danielle Deadwyler and his brother Edwin Hodge. The film is produced by Hodge Brother Productions. Hodge, along with Joe Keery and Camila Morrone, stars in Marmalade, a romantic heist film from Keir O'Donnell.
