Actor Ross Marquand is well known for his roles as Aaron in The Walking Dead and Red Skull and Ultron in various Marvel projects. Next, Marquand will star as the lead in Peter Cilella's feature directorial debut, Descendent.
The film, which was also written by Cilelle, premiered at the 2025 SXSW event on March 10. Arianne Fraser, Delphine Perrier, Henry Winterstern, and Mark Ward serve as executive producers, with David Lawson Jr, Justin Benson, Aaron Moorhead, and Caleb Ward producing.
The story follows Sean Bruner (Marquand), a school security guard in present-day Los Angeles who, with his wife Andrea (Sarah Bolger), is planning the birth of their first child. One evening, after seeing a mysterious beam of light in the sky, he awakens in a hospital with "an inexplicable talent for vivid, unsettling drawings of extraterrestrials and desert landscapes." As the line between reality and dreams is blurred, Sean must confront his tragic past to escape his family's unfortunate legacy.
Marquand and Bolger are joined by fellow cast members Susan Wilder, Charlene Amoia, Dan O'Brien, Brandon Scott, Alexandra Barreto, Alex Ruiz, Clare Cooney, and Emily Pendergast.

Marquand made quite the name for himself by bringing the TWD character Aaron to life on screen. He was introduced in season 5 of the series and, despite losing his hand in season 9, lived to survive the series' conclusion in 2022.
He is also well known for his work voicing and portraying Red Skull in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. He would then voice Ultron in Avengers: Damage Control and an alternate version of the character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. He also voiced the characters in several episodes of Marvel'sWhat if...? series.
Marquand is very well known for his impressions of well-known celebrities, which are incredibly accurate. He has also done extensive voice work in many projects, including Invincible, American Dad!, LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy, Megamind Rules!, and more.
