Walking Dead actor Sydney Park lands role in The Morning Show season 5

For fans of The Walking Dead, Sydney Park will be immediately recognizable for her role as Cyndie, a member of the Oceanside survivor community. Cyndie was introduced in the later seasons of the AMC series as part of a hidden group of survivors who had been shaped by tragedy and loss.

Oceanside itself was a secluded settlement made up primarily of women who had survived brutal losses at the hands of the Saviors, and Cyndie quickly emerged as one of its more compassionate and morally grounded members.

Park played the role of Cyndie for seasons 7 through 10, and now she's about to make a major tonal shift as she enters the high-stakes world of The Morning Show. Created by Jay Carson, the Apple TV drama centers around the fast-moving, politically charged environment of a major broadcast news network. There have been four seasons so far, with the highly anticipated fifth season expected to drop sometime in 2027. Park will play Leah, the new assistant to Cory Ellison, portrayed by Billy Crudup.

Introducing a new assistant into Cory’s orbit is hardly a minor addition. If past seasons have proven anything, it’s that proximity to power in The Morning Show often comes with complications. Assistants, executives, and producers alike tend to get pulled into the moral gray areas that define the series. That makes Leah a character to watch closely as season 5 unfolds.

While details about Leah’s personality and storyline are still under wraps, the role itself suggests she could become a key player. However, whether she serves as a loyal right hand or finds herself caught in the crossfire of corporate maneuvering remains to be seen.

But Park isn't the only new cast member for season 5. Jeff Wilbusch, who most recently starred in Netflix's Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, also joins The Morning Show season 5 in a recurring role. He is set to portray Roman, Head of Protective Services for the UBN News Division. Other new cast members for the fifth season are Jeff Daniels, Jesse Williams, Renee Rapp, and Sean Hayes.

In addition, Crudup, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Nicole Beharie, and Jon Hamm are all set to reprise their respective roles.

Besides The Morning Show season 5, Walking Dead fans can expect to see Park in two upcoming horror movies. She stars in Scary Movie 6, which is hitting theaters on June 5, 2026. Additionally, she has a role in Halloween Store. However, it's unknown when that film will drop.
