Horror thrillers appear to be the favorite genre for movies in 2025. Walking Dead alum Xander Berkeley is the next TWD actor to be cast in a movie in this genre. Variety reports that Berkeley has been added to the cast of Tyler Savage's movie, Oddities.
The movie, directed by Savage, recently wrapped production and expands his same titled 2023 short film. Oddities is produced by David Broad, Javier Gonzalez, Noah Lang, and Max Neace. Executive producers include Jamie Meyer and Lucas Fleisher, as well as the stars of the movie, Lovie Simone, Lilimar, and Adrienne Barbeau. Travis LeSalle, Dash Hawkins, and Jeff Smith serve as co-producers.
Simone and Lilimar portray self-destructive best friends who kill their drug dealer, accidentally. Things take a dark turn when an older woman (Barbeau) who runs an antique store, where they take refuge, turns out to be much less sweet than initially thought. No details regarding Berkeley's character have been made public. James Lee Thomas also appears in the movie, playing a guy named Eddie.
Producers for Oddities are currently in discussions for sale of the film, with hopes for a 2026 release.
Xander Berkeley - recent role in impactful story

Berkeley is well known for his role as Gregory, leader of Hilltop in AMC's The Walking Dead, and has over 250 credits to his name. In 2023, he starred in the impactful movie No Address, which is "a gripping journey of living without walls and rising above them."
The film is written by James J. Papa and Julia Verdin, the founder of Rough Diamond Productions, who also directs and produces the film. No Address is inspired by actual events and follows Lauren, "a young woman pushed onto the streets and forced to survive against all odds." The film sheds light on a group of homeless people and the difficult situations that arise from living on the streets.
Filmmakers hope that this film will help viewers see homelessness through a different lens which inspires them view the homeless population in a non-judgemental light.
Berkeley stars along with William Baldwin, Beverly D’Angelo, Lucas Jade Zumann, Ty Pennington, Patricia Valasquez, Isabella Ferreira, Kristanna Loken, and GRAMMY® Award-winning singer/songwriter & actress, Ashanti,
