The Walking Dead was truly one of the most remarkable and influential shows of its time. When it first aired in 2010, it brought a fresh, gritty perspective to the zombie genre, combining horror, drama, and a deep exploration of human nature in a way that had rarely been seen on television before. Over its many seasons, it didn’t just become a show you watched. It seriously became a part of your life.
It also didn't take long for you to become invested in the characters’ journeys, their struggles, their heartbreaks, and their victories. What was so interesting about The Walking Dead is how it had this incredible way of making you feel like you were right there with Rick, Daryl, Carol, and everyone else living through every decision, every sacrifice, and every moment of fear and triumph.
You felt the weight of each choice they made, the moral dilemmas they faced, and the constant threat of losing everything. The Walking Dead was a show that didn’t shy away from showing the brutal truth of survival, but it also illuminated the resilience of the human spirit. It showed that even in the darkest, most hopeless moments, there's still something worth fighting for.
And even though the zombie series finally wrapped up after eleven unforgettable seasons in 2022, the world it built still feels alive. With multiple spinoffs like Fear the Walking Dead, Dead City, Daryl Dixon, and others, the franchise has proven that there are still plenty of stories to tell. But despite all the expansions, there are some surviving characters who never got their moment in the spotlight. We're about to highlight a few now.

Eugene
If there’s one Walking Dead character who never got the full recognition he deserved, it’s Eugene Porter. From the moment he stumbled onto the screen with his awkward demeanor, mullet, and fabricated “cure” story, Eugene was one of the most fascinatingly complex characters in the entire series. Remember when he came up with that survival lie about being a scientist who knew how to stop the zombie outbreak?
At first, it was easy to dismiss him as a coward hiding behind a convenient story, someone who used his intellect to manipulate others into protecting him. But as the series went on, it became clear that Eugene’s lie wasn’t just about self-preservation. It was about desperation. He wasn’t trying to be cruel or selfish. He was trying to matter in a world that suddenly made people like him feel useless. That lie was his way of clinging to purpose, of convincing himself that he could be someone worth keeping alive.
Over time, Eugene evolved from a man paralyzed by fear into one capable of incredible courage. It was an amazing transformation to witness. Although he basically rides off into the sunset with his new wife Maxxine and their daughter Rosie at the end of the series finale, it feels like Eugene’s story is far from complete. He definitely deserves his own spinoff series!

King Ezekiel
Do you know which Walking Dead character whose presence commanded attention the moment he entered the screen? It's King Ezekiel. What made Ezekiel truly extraordinary wasn’t just his charisma or his iconic speeches. It was his humanity beneath the theatrics. Behind the royal persona was a man who had suffered immense personal losses, who carried the heavy weight of responsibility, and who wrestled with doubt and fear just like anyone else in the apocalypse. Yet, he still pushed forward, refusing to let the weight of the world crush his spirit or the hope of his people.
Like Eugene, Ezekiel's story ends on a positive note in the series finale. He becomes the new governor of the Commonwealth. However, it would be nice to see more of him. Perhaps in a spinoff, we could see him fully stepping into his role as governor, navigating the complex challenges of rebuilding a society in the aftermath of chaos.

Judith
We all want that big Walking Dead reunion where all the surviving characters finally reunite after being off doing their own things, but wouldn't it be great if we could also get a spinoff centered around Judith? Think about it. Judith is uniquely positioned as a character who bridges the past and the future of the Walking Dead universe.
She has seen both the horrors and the heroism of humanity, and her spinoff could explore how someone raised in such extreme circumstances learns not just to survive, but to lead, inspire, and shape a new world. Imagine following Judith as she encounters new communities, faces threats both human and walker, and begins to forge her own path.
The last time we saw her was in The Ones Who Live, where she was finally reunited with Rick and Michonne. In a potential Judith spinoff, there could even be cameos from these two beloved characters. Are you starting to see the vision? Give us what we want, AMC. Please and thank you!
