One of the world's biggest Walking Dead conventions is happening in just a few weeks in Paris, France, but two former stars of The Walking Dead have pulled out of the upcoming convention.
Cassady McClincy, who starred as Lydia in the hit AMC series, and Ross Marquand, who played Aaron, were originally among the many Walking Dead stars heading to Paris to celebrate The Walking Dead with fans of the franchise. Unfortunately, due to scheduling issues, McClincy and Marquand have opted out of From Atlanta to Paris 2 on June 20 and 21.
Union Conventions, which is putting on the convention, shared the news about McClincy and Marquand on Instagram.
It's hard not to be disappointed by the news. I'm sure there were some fans attending the convention who were really excited to meet McClincy and Marquand, but these things often happen in the world of TV and film production. Deadlines change, delays happen, and actors are forced to accommodate or hold up expensive productions. And, let's be real. There are only a few actors in the business who have the power to do something like that.
The good thing is that Marquand and McClincy were able to attend the first From Atlanta to Paris in 2025, so hopefully, their fans were able to meet them, hear from them, and get pictures last year.
For those who don't recall, Aaron, played by Marquand, was introduced in The Walking Dead in the fifth season. Aaron is sent by Deanna to recruit Rick Grimes and his group to Alexandria. From there, the rest is history.
Marquand's character is one of the few Walking Dead stars from the original series who lived all the way through the series finale. Technically speaking, we might not have seen the last of Aaron yet. He could be one of the characters who returns in The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, The Walking Dead: Dead City, or another spinoff in the future.
McClincy joined The Walking Dead a little bit later than Marquand. Her character, Lydia, was first introduced in season 9. Lydia is Alpha's daughter, and she was a big part of the Whisperers War. Like Aaron, Lydia, too, is one of the few who live, so it's possible she could return in the current spinoffs or any future spinoff. That's definitely something to watch.
Even with Marquand and McClincy opting out, the From Atlanta to Paris 2 lineup looks stellar. It includes Lauren Cohan, Emily Kinney, Christian Serratos, Josh McDermitt, Laurie Holden, Chandler Riggs, Lennie James, Michael Cudlitz, Alanna Masterson, Austin Amelio, Avi Nash, Tom Payne, Pollyanne McIntosh, Michael James Shaw, Nadia Hilker, and Callan McAuliffe.
Stay tuned for more news about From Atlanta to Paris 2. Our team won't have a presence at the convention, but we'll definitely be following for updates.
