The Walking Dead is one of the best zombie shows of all time. Its spinoffs are keeping fans satiated, but Daryl Dixon and Dead City are the only Walking Dead spinoffs still running. We're running out of zombie shows to watch.

Luckily, there are some really good zombie shows that fans of The Walking Dead need to watch right now! I shared a list of six killer zombie shows for fans of The Walking Dead.

For the most part, I tried to pick recommendations that Walking Dead fans haven't already seen and that might feel a little different than the hit AMC series. Let's get the list started with one of the best shows on TV.

Best show: The Last of Us

Where to watch: HBO and HBO Max

The Last of Us definitely deserves a spot on this list. Created by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckman, The Last of Us tells the stories of Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a teenager who may hold the secret to halting a fungal outbreak that turns people into zombie-like creatures, and Joel (Pedro Pascal), a survivor of the outbreak trying to find a new home. The series is based on the video games of the same name.

There are two seasons of The Last of Us to watch on HBO Max right now. The Last of Us season 3 is officially in the works, but it's going to be a while.

Why you should watch: Simply put, The Last of Us is just the best of the best TV has to offer right now. No detail is overlooked in this great HBO series. The story is tight, tragic, and enjoyable. The performances are incredible. Every episode is a work of art from the set design, the costumes, the effects, the cinematography, and more. It's just awesome, and fans of The Walking Dead will love it.

Most underrated: Kingdom

Where to watch: Netflix

Kingdom is a South Korean zombie series that premiered on Netflix in 2019. The series is based on the webtoon of the same name. So far, we've seen two seasons of the hit series, and a special, Ashin of the North, and I know I'm not alone in hoping we haven't seen the end of Kingdom. The series begins in the 17th century as a zombie outbreak devastates a kingdom.

Why you should watch: Kingdom is definitely the best zombie show you've never heard of. I know there are fans of the genre who binge-watched this show on Netflix, but for the most part, this show is not mentioned or talked about nearly enough. It's an incredible series. It has no flaws, and it's perfect for fans of The Walking Dead. It's legitimately scary!

Funniest: Santa Clarita Diet

Where to watch: Netflix

Santa Clarita Diet is one of the most fun and funniest Netflix shows I've ever seen. Created by Victor Fresco, the Netflix original series tells the story of Sheila (Drew Barrymore) and Joel (Timothy Olyphant), a couple living in Santa Clarita, California. After Sheila becomes a zombie, the couple tries to keep her secret while also keeping themselves sustained on a steady diet of their friends, neighbors, and community members.

The series premiered on Netflix in 2017 and ran for three seasons on Netflix. Unfortunately, the series was canceled after the third season. It's one of the biggest Netflix cancellations to date.

Why you should watch: As I mentioned, this series is just a good time! It's disgusting, at times, but it's all for fun, gross-out moments. Barrymore and Olyphant are so much fun in this series, too. They are perfect in these roles, and they have excellent chemistry and comedic timing. Look, it's not as serious as The Walking Dead, but isn't it okay if things weren't serious all of the time? I think so!

Australian: Glitch

Where to watch: Netflix

Glitch is an Australian series that premiered in 2015 and ran for three seasons. The series tells the story of a small town in Australia where people start returning from the dead. It's not like a full-on zombie outbreak series, but there's definitely an element of mystery and intrigue. I think Walking Dead fans are really going to like the vibe of this show.

Why you should watch: Did I mention that it was an Australian series? That's a good enough reason for me! But, no, this is just another excellent series. It was a big hit a few years ago when it hit Netflix, and it's largely been forgotten since. It's time to bring it back!

Canceled too soon: Daybreak

Where to watch: Netflix

Daybreak is definitely the best zombie series that was canceled way too soon! It's also more of a comedy-drama series with a lot of heart than The Walking Dead, but it's still a very enjoyable show to watch on Netflix. Unfortuntately, there's only one season of the series.

After a nuclear holocaust wipes out most of humanity, the survivors in and around Glendale, California, split off into factions to, well, survive. Factionless, Josh, played by Colin Ford, tries to find his girlfriend in the apocalypse while avoiding zombie creatures.

Why you should watch: Daybreak is one of my favorite Netflix shows ever! I love a teen drama. And, Daybreak just checked a lot of boxes for me. I also love a found family show, like The Walking Dead, and Daybreak has a lot of those elements, too.

Outside the box: iZombie

Last but not least, I picked iZombie as my outside-the-box choice. Overall, iZombie feels a little different than most of the shows on this list. It's more like Santa Clarita Diet in story and tone, but it also feels very CW, which makes sense because it's a CW show.

The series tells the story of Liv (Rose McIver), a young medical professional who becomes a zombie. She uses her access to keep herself from going full zombie and starting and outbreak.

There are five seasons of iZombie available to stream right now! It ended after its fifth season.

Why you should watch: Like most of the shows on this list, iZombie is just a good time! There are a lot of episodes, so you have a good series to dive into with a show like this. Tonally, it's very different than The Walking Dead, but it's still a lot of fun to devour on Netflix!

That's the list of killer zombie shows that fans of The Walking Dead should watch right now!
