For years, fans of The Walking Dead have known Andrew Lincoln as the fearless, gritty hero battling the undead in a world gone mad. But not many may know that, before he was taking on zombies, he was stealing hearts in a heartwarming Christmas movie.

Long before the apocalypse, long before the tension, and long before the world knew him as Rick Grimes, Lincoln showed a completely different side of his talent. Honestly, if you've only ever seen him as Rick, you’re in for a real treat. Perhaps you've heard of the 2003 British Christmas rom-com, Love Actually. Yeah, that one. The movie that somehow became the ultimate holiday classic, and one that’s impossible not to love every single time you watch it. It's one of Lincoln's most memorable projects, and it should be on every Walking Dead fan’s holiday watchlist.

Look, I know that as a Walking Dead fan, watching this film might be completely out of your comfort zone. It’s nothing like the bloody, tension-filled world of walkers and survival. However, Christmas is right around the corner. Did The Walking Dead ever give us a Christmas episode? Nope, and that's something we still think about to this day. That said, maybe it’s the perfect excuse to step away from the apocalypse for a bit and experience some holiday cheer. I mean, Lincoln starring in it should entice you at least a little, right?

Love Actually is the Christmas movie that Andrew Lincoln fans will love

Written and directed by Richard Curtis, Love Actually is a timeless Christmas rom-com, packed with laughs, heartfelt moments, and that special holiday magic that just makes you smile. But if you’re an Andrew Lincoln fan, this movie is a whole other level of fun.

Love Actually doesn't tell one single story. Instead, it weaves together multiple love stories happening in London during the holiday season. Among them, Lincoln’s storyline stands out. He plays a charming, awkward character named Mark, who is secretly in love with his best friend’s wife. Mark doesn't say anything because he wants to respect their marriage and friendship, so he keeps his feelings completely to himself.

But without spoiling how the story plays out, there's one iconic scene with Lincoln at the end of the movie that will even have the toughest Walking Dead fans smiling, swooning, and maybe even tearing up a little. It's shown a little bit in the official trailer above.

Besides Lincoln just being a great actor, what makes his role in this movie work is his chemistry with Keira Knightley. She plays Mark's best friend's wife. They act well off each other, and it makes every scene between them feel completely believable. Also starring in this film and in this particular storyline is the amazingly talented Chiwetel Ejiofor, who plays Mark's best friend.

The other love stories being told in this movie are just as charming, funny, and heartwarming. With a cast consisting of other well-known actors, including Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Laura Linney, Emma Thompson, and Alan Rickman, it shouldn't be a surprise that Love Actually has become a beloved holiday classic. That's why this Christmas, we're recommending Walking Dead fans take a break from the zombie chaos and enjoy some festive cheer!

Love Actually can be streamed on Peacock or Prime Video with a subscription. There's also the option to rent or purchase the film through digital platforms.
