By Renee Hansen
Fans of Andrew Lincoln rejoice! Not only has there been a rare sighting of Andrew Lincoln, but he is currently in Glasgow working on a new project. Lincoln made purchases at Mixed Up Records and posed with his finds below.
Mixed Up Records, a store that sells new and secondhand records located in Glasgow's west end shared the news of their special guest on October 8, 2024. Lincoln purchased several records and received a free gift of a Mixed Up Records tote bag, which he posed for the social media image flashing his best blue steel.
Lincoln began filming his latest British series, Cold Water, an ITV thriller, in July 2024. The Walking Dead actor will portray John, a middle-aged man unhappy with his life as a stay-at-home father who moves his family to Coldwater, an isolated Scottish Village. There, against his wife's suspicions, he befriends an oddball neighbor, Tommy, played by Ewen Bremner of Trainspotting fame, who harbors some horrific secrets.
The six-part series was created by David Ireland, known for his work on the Sky series The Lovers and his hilarious portrayal of Sean Devlin in the outrageously funny Channel 4 series Derry Girls. Cold Water will air on ITV, aka Channel 3, and is produced by Sister, whose recent projects included the Netflix thriller Eric. Lincoln will also executive produce the series, a role he also took on during The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live, a spinoff in which he reprised his role as Rick Grimes.
The additional cast includes Indira Varma, who plays John's wife Fiona, and Eve Myles, who plays Rebecca. IMDB also lists Jason Alan Staines as a cast member.
Cold Water began filming in Dennistoun, located in Scotland and has also filmed in the semi-rural town of Strathaven and the village of Dunlop.
Lincoln reprised his role as Rick Grimes for The Walking Dead spinoff, The Ones Who Live in 2024. This series featured the long-awaited reunion between Rick and the love of his life, Michonne (Danai Gurira). The six-part limited series was well received, and fans hope to see more of Lincoln in this role.
In 2020, Lincoln starred with Naomi Watts in the Australian drama Penguin Bloom, which is based on a true story. He also appeared in episode 8 of the Netflix original Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities. The episode, titled "The Murmuring" also stars Essie Davis and Hannah Galway.
