Walking Dead's Eleanor Matsuura stars in The Day of the Jackal on Peacock and Sky TV

Actress Eleanor Matsuura is well known for her role as Yumiko on AMC's The Walking Dead. She will now star in the British series The Day of the Jackal, which premieres this fall.
The series is based on Fredrick Forsyth's seminal novel which inspired Universal Pictures 1973 award-winning film. Written and adapted by Ronan Bennett, known for his work in Michael Mann's crime biopic Public Enemies (2009), the series lead director is Brian Kirk (Game of Thrones, Luther, Boardwalk Empire).
The story tells of the Jackal, played by Academy Award-winning Eddie Redmayne, a lone assassin who is unrivaled and highly elusive. He makes his living by carrying out hits to the highest bidder. His most recent assignment puts him against a tenacious British intelligence office, portrayed by BAFTA-winning Lashana Lynch, who will stop at nothing to capture the Jackal in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe. Úrsula Corberó stars as Nuria, a woman at the heart of the Jackal's personal life who has no idea of his alter ego.
Matsuura will portray Zina Jansone but no information has been revealed about this character.
The Day of the Jackal is a 10-part series that will premiere on Sky Atlantic and streaming service NOW in the UK on November 7th. The series will premiere on Peacock in the US beginning November 14th with the first five episodes; subsequent episodes air weekly leading up to the double finale on Dec. 12.

Eleanor Matsuura - other roles
Matsuura began her Walking Dead role during season 9, and her character, Yumiko, would survive the series, which ended with season 11 in 2022. Other TV roles include Cuffs, Utopia, The Time with Alan Partridge, The Rook, and Into the Band Lands.
In 2022, she stared in the British dramedy, I Used to Be Famous with Ed Skrein, and Leo Lang. This is a must see movie that will make you laugh, cry, and cheer. Skrein portrays Vince, FNA Vinnie D a member of what once was the hottest boy band around. Twenty years later he is still trying relive his glory days with a major come back. While playing the streets of Peckham he forms an unlikely bond with Stevie (Lang) an autistic boy gifted with rhythm. Matsuura portrays Stevie's understandably protective mom, who closely watches the special bond between her son and Vince grow.
Matsuura is also known for her role as Epione in Wonder Woman, Justice, League, and Zach Snyder's Justice League. She has also done much voice work that is featured in several video games including World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, Star Wars: Battlefront and Battlefront II, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, and many more.
