The Walking Dead: dying on the show isn’t a bad deal

Characters die on The Walking Dead all the time.  Sometimes, the characters that meet their doom come back as zombies.  There are some times that they can come back in flashbacks as well.  However, there is one thing that is for certain: dying on The Walking Dead isn’t really a bad thing for the careers of the actors who play them.

In fact, it seems as though many of the actors and actresses who are killed off from The Walking Dead have gone on to have great opportunities following their time on the AMC zombie show.  In fact, most individuals find themselves moving up the acting chain into more important roles.

Here are just some examples of actors who have moved on to big roles following their appearance on The Walking Dead:

Jon Bernthal (Shane Walsh) was recently named as the actor who will play The Punisher on Marvel’s “Daredevil”.  Daredevil is critically praised and has become one of the most popular series on Netflix.

Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori Grimes) will be the lead actress in a new USA series titled “Colony” which will premiere this fall.

Emily Kinney (Beth Greene) landed a role on The CW’s “The Flash” and also has a recurring role on Showtime’s “The Masters of Sex”.  Plus, she’s always got her modeling and music career as well.

Chad L. Coleman (Tyreese Williams) has a recurring role on the SyFy show “The Expanse”.  Also, he’s a part of a comic book series “Treadwater”, which is currently looking into becoming a feature film.

David Morrissey (The Governor) plays on the CBS drama “Extant” opposite mega-star Halle Berry and also now owns a television production company in the U.K.

Michael Rooker (Merle Dixon) played a major role in the hit film “Guardians of the Galaxy” and looks to reprise his role in the sequel as well as starred in the film “Brother’s Keeper”.

Scott Wilson (Hershel Greene) was on the show “Bosch” for a while, but will have a much more significant and noteworthy role in the TV series “Damien” based on “The Omen”.

While many other actors from The Walking Dead have also gone on to have significant roles on other shows, they definitely owe much of their notoriety to the time they spent battling zombies on AMC.  It is because of this show that many fans were introduced to some of these great actors.  Some of the others were familiar faces who became household names among the show’s fans.
