The Walking Dead season 6: Romance for Carol and Daryl?

It seems to be around this time every year that people start speculating about Daryl Dixon and Carol Peletier hooking up on AMC’s hit zombie survival drama The Walking Dead.

While some people still buy into the idea of these two characters forming a romantic relationship, others feel that they don’t need to go to that level.  Instead, they see more of a family-type bond between Carol and Daryl.  But that never stops people from speculating and wondering if this union will ever happen.

A recent article on The Bit Bag’s website once again brought forth the idea of these two characters finding romance with each other during The Walking Dead’s sixth season when it airs on AMC this October.

Melissa McBride thinks that Carol Peletier and Daryl Dixon have an “incredible connection and bond”  according to an interview with TV Line during the weekend of San Diego’s Comic Con International this year.  However, incredible connections and bonds don’t always mean romantic relationships are in store.

But I think Andrew Lincoln (the actor who plays Rick Grimes) got it right when he said that “It’s tough, dating in the apocalypse.”  There are some examples of love stories that lasted a while, but they are far and few between.  However, if you read the comic books, you’ll know that there are at least two big relationships coming up soon in the story line that could have a big impact on what the future holds for AMC’s The Walking Dead.

Straying from the comics is something that The Walking Dead likes to do on occasion though to keep us on our toes, so you never know what will happen when the popular show returns to AMC this October.

In the meantime, we can still debate whether or not Carol and Daryl will become “Caryl” or whatever the “ship” people are saying these days.  While I personally wouldn’t mind the union, there are others that are totally against it happening.  But that’s the joy of having fans with differing opinions.
