Could the mysterious Strand of Fear The Walking Dead be the connection fans have been wanting between AMC’s The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead?

What if the link between Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead already exists but isn’t being shoved into the faces of fans? There is a character that could be in the future of both series even though he is not a part of the comic book universe: Victor Strand.

First off, all the characters on AMC’s Fear The Walking Dead so far have not been a part of either The Walking Dead‘s television series or comic books. But what if AMC renamed a character and set them back in time enough to make them known to viewers of both shows before making a surprise debut? This is a possibility that raised an eyebrow when watching Sunday’s episode of Fear The Walking Dead.

Fans love Strand. He’s mysterious. He loves living on water. He makes his home at sea. He lives through logic and only wants to save those useful to him. That sounds an awful lot like a character fans got to know in the comic books, but has only made a few appearances: Pete.

No, not Pete “Porchdick” Anderson, but the Pete that found Michonne and took her for a while on his boat. The one that has a major part in the Michonne: A Telltale Game Miniseries video game.

Introduced in issue 139 of The Walking Dead’s comic book, Pete has only made three total appearances. However, the story of Pete and Michonne surviving at sea off the east coast of the United States is an interesting one, and one that could very have their name be substituted for in the future to avoid confusion with Mr. Anderson, like the show did for Paul Monroe when transitioning him to the small screen.

Having Victor Strand be the television version of Pete would be a fun move and a great little nod for fans who watch both shows, play the video games, and read the comics to enjoy. Of course, this means that the character of Pete won’t be appearing for at least another couple of seasons on AMC’s The Walking Dead. Not only would this give Fear The Walking Dead more time to establish his character, maybe have him develop a few more emotions, and make the travel to Virginia.

Perhaps the mysterious voice on the other end of the radio will have him travel that way. Or maybe the character could have personal obligations to fulfil there. But no matter how the two hit programs decide to tell the story, it would be a lot of fun to see Strand be the link between the two shows, even if fans have to wait a couple of seasons for it to happen.
