All of Us Are Dead is a Korean zombie thriller series created by Lee JQ, Chun Sung-il, and Kim Nam-su. Based on the hit webtoon of the same name, it centers on a group of teenagers who must fight for survival when their high school is engulfed by a zombie outbreak.

Honestly, true zombie fans should at least know about this series. All of Us Are Dead was pretty big when its first season was released on Netflix back in January 2022. You might not have watched it, or maybe you brushed it off thinking it was “just another high school zombie show." But let me tell you. That’s a huge mistake. This series doesn't mess around.

From just looking at the episode count and how long each one is, you'd probably think it's a hard show to binge. I mean, 12 episodes that are an hour or over an hour long each can be pretty intimidating. But here’s the thing. All of Us Are Dead moves so quickly and packs so much action, tension, and emotion into every single episode that you barely notice the time passing. Before you know it, you've reached the season 1 finale, and you’re left reeling from the sheer intensity of it all.

From the moment “patient zero” turns, to the chaos spreading through the school, to the shocking cliffhangers at the end of each episode, the series never lets up. Characters you think are safe one minute are gone the next, and every choice carries life-or-death consequences. It doesn't take long for you to gravitate towards certain characters either. You start rooting for them with a mix of hope and dread, knowing that at any moment, the show could rip them away from you.

But just as there are likable characters, there are some that will frustrate you to no end. However, none of this comes as a surprise since a zombie outbreak is the ultimate pressure cooker. It brings out both the best and worst in people. The students at Hyosan High are pushed to their absolute limits, and the show does not shy away from showing the consequences of fear, panic, and split-second decisions.

Some characters will make selfish or reckless choices that infuriate you, while others rise to the occasion with courage and ingenuity you can’t help but admire. The result is a constant emotional rollercoaster. You’re laughing, crying, holding your breath, and screaming at the screen all within the span of a single episode.

Of course, I'm not going to spoil anything for those who haven't watched yet. However, I will tell you that the season 1 finale ends on a shocking cliffhanger that sets up the second season. Yes, an All of Us Are Dead season 2 is currently in the works. That said, you might want to get started on the first season sooner rather than later. There's a chance that the second season could be coming out sometime next year, and you're going to want to be all caught up before it drops!

All of Us Are Dead is available to stream on Netflix right now.
