TMZ Annoys Steven Yeun With An Absurd Zombie Question
By Adam Carlson
Sometimes, I feel really bad for the cast and crew of The Walking Dead. Despite their success and legions of fans, they often times have to deal with people and the media hounding them for quotes, sound bites, interviews, autographs and other weird things. When TMZ caught up with Steven Yeun recently at the Las Angeles International Airport, things got really weird.
Instead of talking to one of the stars about The Walking Dead about how much they love the character of Glenn Rhee or trying to get a tiny bit of information about season 6 of The Walking Dead, the man behind the camera instead decides as Steven Yeun about what would happen if a specific type of human was “hit” by a walker.
The results were priceless, as Yeun gave the perfect answer and didn’t even turn around to acknowledge the paparazzi that was hot on his tail. Here is the clip of that video from the official TMZ YouTube account:
As you can likely tell, I’ve never been a fan of paparazzi. I’ve always felt that celebrities are people too, with places to be and things to do. They already make time to meet fans and give interviews whenever possible, but to hunt someone down to ask them a single question is pretty silly and a waste of everyone’s time.
That’s especially true when the question being posed is “If someone is in a wheelchair and they get hit by a zombie, are they still in a wheelchair?” I mean, seriously? Not only is Steven Yeun not the person to ask about this, but it also borders on being a repulsive question.
Since Steven Yeun can’t answer this question, most likely doesn’t know what would happen, and probably has no interest in it, it’s surprising that he even responded. Still, it’s great that he was able to say “I don’t know. Maybe they are. Use your imagination.”
It is because of interactions like this that I’m amazed many celebrities are still so friendly when out in public. Kudos to Steven Yeun for dealing with this absurd question in a great way and providing us all with a reminder that being bothered with dumb stuff like this on your private time isn’t fun for anyone.
