The Walking Dead Fan Art: Monkeyes

facebooktwitterreddit

The Walking Dead has inspired artists everywhere to create their own tribute and fan art in all different styles.  I love the variety of art I’ve found from the talented artists and fans out there. So far, I’ve found them all on Twitter.  Art is very subjective and personal. Some just speak to people more than others. A few have jumped out to me.  I’ve highlighted two of those fan artists so far on Undead Walking.  Eric Keyes is the third and a very different one from the others.  Eric is @monkeyes on Twitter, if you want to keep up with his new work and see so much more than I can highlight here. According to his profile, he is a character designer on The Simpsons and a doodler. And quite a doodler he is!

His work is whimsical, adorable and varied. His is cartoon work. You can see the influence of his “day job” at The Simpsons. You can find out more about that on his Imdb page.  He does comical interpretations of ideas and scenes from the show as well as tribute cartoon versions of simple characters. The example below shows the humor Walking Dead fans appreciate.

Most recently, he has started a series of “minis” from Season 5 along with mini versions of show runners like Robert Kirkman, Greg Nicotero, Gale Anne Hurd and Scott Gimple.  These minis have been so well received on Twitter. I’m a huge fan of the minis. I hope you enjoy Eric’s work as much as I do.

Here are the three other artists I’ve highlighted:

Elizabeth Gray

Kirk Manley

Jamie
