Undeadwalking: A Thank You to My Site And Our Tweeps!

facebooktwitterreddit

I’d like to take a moment to thank the people at FanSided and Undead Walking for allowing me to write/blog for them.  Just for the information of the readers, I’m not looking for compliments, raises or bonuses!  This is a volunteer blog!

My experience with Undead Walking began about six months ago, I’d say, but I’m not exactly sure when or how I encountered them. I’m guessing it was some sort of a twisted combination of a Twitter/Facebook/Articles/Chicken/Egg thing.  I know that I started to become a regular and long commenter on Josh, Nir, Ernie and Adam’s articles. I enjoyed the discussion there.  At times I even held back my comments for fear of getting annoying. I followed Adam on Twitter.

Ernie and Adam encouraged me to apply to write for Undead Walking. They said they’d love to have more writers and the site likes a wide variety of points of view. After a while, I finally did it!  And I’m so glad I did. They are a great group and I really love having a way to express all those Walking Dead thoughts and ideas that go through my mind all the time.

One day I asked Adam if he wanted any help with Twitter finding pictures or anything.  He let me know that if I was interested, I could have the password and tweet myself.  Well, the rest is history there. I sort of took over Twitter, except for Sunday Live Tweets and gave it my own personality. He assured me, he didn’t mind so I’m still there tweeting. It has been so much fun. The Walking Dead fandom is a blast!   When I took over we were at just under a thousand followers and we’ve grown to sixteen hundred. Just a quick note about numbers and followers. Big numbers are fun, but I really think it’s important to appreciate the followers you have more than worrying about followers you don’t have.

So this is my thank you to Fansided, to Undead Walking, to Adam Carlson,  to anyone who reads an article and to all the Undead Tweeps! My Walking Dead life is richer because of you.
