The Inspiring Story Of The Walking Dead’s Moses J. Moseley
By Adam Carlson
Fans of The Walking Dead might not know who Moses J. Moseley is or who he played on The Walking Dead, but from the moment he appeared on the hit AMC show, he’s made a big impression.
Moseley was introduced along with Michonne. He was one of the actors who played as her “pets” that was on chains. It was something that fans of The Walking Dead had never seen before. Something that got everyone talking to lead into speculation about who the hooded woman was with the walkers by her side.
Despite that surprise, the bigger story regarding Moses J. Moseley didn’t happen on the small screen. It happened in his personal life where according to a story on the tulsaworld.com website, Moses J. Moseley overcame childhood obesity and lost over 150 pounds to become an actor and a model.
The journey wasn’t easy for Moseley. His family couldn’t afford to get the weight loss surgery for him, but that didn’t discourage him. He went on a diet avoiding red meats, and focusing on foods like fish and poultry.
After losing the weight, Moses J. Moseley was able to achieve his dream of becoming an actor and a model. He has turned himself into a versatile actor that has appeared on many popular movies and shows including The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, 42, and The Internship. However, fans of The Walking Dead can always see him returning to the popular AMC show to be a member of the undead horde.
Here is what Moseley told tulsaworld.com about his journey:
"“When people read my story and find out more about it, it’s mind-blowing to them. But, at the same time, it’s empowering to them.”"
On a personal note, I know that as an overweight person myself that I need to find the kind of inspiration and determination that Moses J. Moseley found. Hopefully, he can help inspire others to find the courage and desire to chase after their dreams and work hard to achieve them.
