Andrew Lincoln: The Walking Dead Movie ‘Would Be Amazing’

It wasn’t too long ago that it was announced that Robert Kirkman’s company Skybound has made a deal with Universal for the rights to some projects that could later become feature films.  Immediately, that speculation turned to the possibility of a movie based on Kirkman’s most popular creation, The Walking Dead.

While the properties that were being discussed were likely not The Walking Dead, that didn’t stop the media and fans from drooling at the idea of the hit AMC show being brought to the big screen.  That idea was one that was even brought to the attention of one of the show’s stars, Andrew Lincoln.

In a recent interview on Inquirer.net, Andrew Lincoln discussed the possibility of a movie based on AMC’s The Walking Dead.

"“That would be amazing. It’s something we’ve been talking about and dreamt of because it would be cool to see some snow. We were all going, just not to have to film in Atlanta where it gets to 100 degrees!”"

Andrew Lincoln continued.  He discussed what kind of things could get touched upon in a movie about The Walking Dead that weren’t able to be included in the television show.

"“What would be amazing is that you can play with form, time and chronology and maybe also rediscover characters who are no longer in the show. Certainly, with that format, you can do something very interesting and ambitious.”"

The idea is a lot of fun, but fans hoping to see a movie based on The Walking Dead shouldn’t hold their breath.  However, it sure is fun to think about what the movie could have been like.  We could have learned a lot more about the time on Hershel’s farm.  Or maybe some of the events that we missed out on during the time at the prison.  It’s also possible that we could have learned about the trip that Abraham, Rosita, and Eugene took before they met up with the main group.
