The Walking Dead Season 6 Could Feature A Zombie Army

Fans of The Walking Dead have seen a lot of weird things during the 5 seasons that the popular AMC television show has been on the air, but season 6 promises some interesting things that have many fans interested.

One of those promises came from one of the show’s producers Gale Anne Hurd in an interview with Entertainment Weekly where she talked about the scale of some of the things that The Walking Dead wants to do in their sixth season.

Here is what she said in the interview:

"“We’re also embarking on the most ambitious episodes we’ve ever done in terms of not only the action set pieces, but also the level of emotional weight that’s brought to bear on the characters.”"

As far as ambition goes, you have to think that it is either something done on a big scale or one mind-blowing event.  Because of that, and some of the crazy things that have happened in the past on The Walking Dead, trying to think up some situation that they would consider “ambitious” is difficult.

However, a recent interview with executive producer Greg Nicotero on Melty.com could have shed a little light on what Gale Anne Hurd was talking about.

"“You have people that are basically utilizing the people that they kill as ammunition to build a zombie army,” Nicotero said. “They are setting booby traps everywhere so they can take people’s possessions and then use them to build the walkers in the traps. So it’s kind of a diabolical plan.”"

A walker army.  I have to admit, that sure sounds interesting.  We’ve already seen some of the booby traps that The Wolves were setting for people and what happened when they captured people like “little red riding hood” in the season 5 finale of The Walking Dead.  The trap that they created was very elaborate, with music to lure in the undead and triggers so that The Wolves themselves wouldn’t be in any danger.

However, if this is just one of their traps, it makes me wonder how many more sites like this The Wolves have out there.  And how many more members of the undead that they have at their disposal.  If they have many, they could possibly engineer an incredible war without ever losing so much as one of their own people.

If the story from the show continues to follow along the comic books, Alexandria will have to deal with a massive group of walkers soon.  And maybe those walkers might come courtesy of The Wolves during The Walking Dead’s sixth season.
