Fear The Walking Dead’s Biggest Threat Is Ignorance

Earlier today, the producers of Fear The Walking Dead released a video discussing the show being made and what to expect from it.  Being the companion of the insanely popular hit AMC show The Walking Dead will already bring in a great audience, but keeping that audience and making it grow should be the goal from the production team.

Since the show is set closer to the initial stages of the walker outbreak, there won’t be as many of the undead around.  The number of group of closely knit survivors will be much smaller.  And people will be much less prepared for encountering the zombies that they have never had to deal with before.

Here is the quote from Fear The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead’s creator Robert Kirkman in that production video on YouTube discussing what the major threat in Fear The Walking Dead is:

"“Fear the Walking Dead takes us back to the earlier, more dangerous, more terrifying days of The Walking Dead,” he said. “A time when danger was lurking around every corner and the thing mostly likely to get you killed was your own ignorance of the rapidly changing world around you. The stakes are going to be higher and the ride more intense. We’re going to show people all the insanity of civilization crumbling that Rick Grimes slept through. Buckle up.”"

As a fan, the concept of finding out how the outbreak was initially handled on Fear The Walking Dead is quite interesting to me.  Since we didn’t get to see this on The Walking Dead as we didn’t pick up the story until Rick Grimes came out of his coma, it will be great to see how this was handled by the medial professionals and the media.

Although it’s already been determined that we most likely won’t find out the cause of the outbreak, I’m excited to see what Fear The Walking Dead has planned for its viewers.

Fear The Walking Dead is scheduled to premiere this Summer on AMC.  Stay tuned to Undead Walking for more updates!
