Telltale Games Walking Dead Season 3 Not Coming In 2015

I’ve made it absolutely no secret to readers of Undead Walking how much I love the Telltale Games series based on The Walking Dead. I’ve played through the adventures of Lee and Clementine gladly for two seasons of the story and have been itching to find out what happens next in the story.

Sadly, I’ll have to wait much longer for my fix of Telltale’s The Walking Dead video game series. It was clarified by Job J Stauffer (Public Relations Director at Telltale) on Twitter that we wouldn’t be seeing season 3 of the popular game series released in 2015.

While it is disappointing that fans of Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead series will have to wait until at least 2016 for a new season, there is a positive thing that came out of this tweet. As a fan expressed his sadness for no new content in the game series for 2015, Stauffer dropped another little hint about what the “insanely cool” thing he was talking about was.

Judging from that response, I think fans might be in store for another kind of expansion or character driven prequel like Telltale released for The Walking Dead between Season 1 and Season 2. That installment was called “400 Days” and introduced us to some of the characters that we met during the show’s second season.

While I’d still be a bit disappointed about the lack of a full season, I’ll take what I can get. The storytelling in these games is fantastic and how the game can make the player care about the characters is astounding. There is another chance that Telltale has something else planned for their series based on The Walking Dead, but at this time I’m not really sure what that would be.

Hopefully, an announcement will be made soon about what the potential content for 2015 will be. Until then, all we can do is speculate and hope.
