The Walking Dead 80’s Sitcom Introduction Theme
By Adam Carlson
By now, fans of The Walking Dead have grown to love the theme song and introduction for the show. While I admit that I still don’t like seeing that bug with all the legs scurry around, I do have the song as the ringtone for my cell phone and admit that sometimes I don’t answer it just to hear the song.
But what if The Walking Dead was created back in the 1980’s? Shows back then had some of the most fantastically horrible yet horribly fantastic theme songs that were ever made. Who can forget the great theme songs to shows like Perfect Strangers, The Facts of Life and Miami Vice? They are absolute classics!
One fan of The Walking Dead on YouTube came up with the idea of combining footage with the show with the song “Neverending Story” and using that to create a great introduction theme video for the show. Here is what Artem 13A came up with:
As a child of the 80’s, I absolutely loved this intro. I wish that he would have used some more characters from The Walking Dead, but overall I thought he did a really good job of combining two things that wouldn’t normally be thought of together.
Fans of The Walking Dead come up with some of the greatest creations to show their love for the show. While not all of them end up being as fantastic as this video was, it still shows the passion that they have for this popular zombie show.
Huge thanks go out to Artem 13 A on YouTube for sharing this great video with us. I hope to see more like this in the future!
