I have to admit that prior to Chita Rivera appearing on NBC’s The Tonight Show, I didn’t really know who she was.  I don’t watch enough of the great entertainment on Broadway to know her work on great shows like Guys and Dolls, West Side Story, and Chicago and didn’t have the opportunity to watch her on The New Dick Van Dyke Show.  But when she mentioned to Jimmy Fallon that she wants to be on The Walking Dead, she had my complete interest.

Here is the video of Chita Rivera telling Fallon about her love for The Walking Dead in the interview from NBC.com:

It’s amazing how many celebrities admit their love for The Walking Dead.  It’s that kind of open confession and word of mouth endorsements that have helped the hit AMC zombie drama continue to grow over the course of 5 seasons.  In case you missed it in the video above, here is what Chita Rivera said to Fallon according to a transcription on ComicBook.com:

"“Get me some Walking Dead. I want to do that,” she told Fallon. “For real, [daughter] Lisa and I love The Walking Dead. I think it’s extraordinary. I think all of the actors are amazing. I think the stories are amazing. I think the survival is fantastic, and the make-up department is just—wow. How do they do it?”"

And Chita Rivera’s absolutely right.  AMC’s The Walking Dead does the virtually impossible every week the amazing make-up and cinematography.  An actress of her experience and following in a minor role on The Walking Dead is something that could be a lot of fun for everyone involved.

"“Twitter, make this happen!” Fallon said, “Well see what happens.”"

I agree.  Let’s work with Twitter and get Chita Rivera a role on The Walking Dead!  Even if it is just a cameo or a scene as a walker, it would be fun to see such a prominent figure from Broadway gracing the small screen among hordes of the undead in a gritty survival drama.
