AMC Locks Down The Walking Dead’s Programming
By Adam Carlson
There is no denying that The Walking Dead is a massive hit for AMC. Not only does AMC have the flagship show, but they also have other projects like Fear The Walking Dead coming up as well as the post-show Talking Dead as part of their major lineup.
AMC has lost some of their other major shows recently. Blockbuster programs like Breaking Bad and Mad Men have since ended their runs, but AMC is looking to stay popular and keep as many of their viewers around as possible. Because of this, AMC has reportedly signed a deal with The Walking Dead’s creator Robert Kirkman.
Here is what Cleveland.com says about AMC locking down The Walking Dead as well as Robert Kirkman’s other projects:
"“AMC has signed a overall deal with “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman to develop new projects and continue his work with “The Walking Dead,” its spinoff “Fear the Walking Dead” and the popular “Talking Dead” after show.”"
This is great news for fans of the show as well as AMC. That means that the programming for all Kirkman’s current shows will continue to appear on the channel while future projects from Robert Kirkman are also likely to appear alongside The Walking Dead.
Robert Kirkman’s resume continues to grow. He has the success of his comic books, The Walking Dead, its new companion series, the movie Air that will be released this year, the comic-to-television series Outcast and will be co-writing the future films in the Transformers series.
Things really seem to be looking up for Robert Kirkman, AMC, and fans of the zombie survival drama. It’s exciting to see so many great projects happening in The Walking Dead’s universe as well as side projects and new endeavors from Kirkman. Now, we just need to find the time to watch all of them.
