Overkill’s The Walking Dead Video Game To Show At E3
By Adam Carlson
With the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo just around the corner, there is great news in store for fans of The Walking Dead. There is already slated to be a major announcement for fans of the Telltale game series based on the comics and hit television show, but now there will also be the upcoming 2016 game from the folks at Overkill on display.
According to the folks over at VG24/7, Overkill’s The Walking Dead video game will have a presence at the 2015 E3 event. While this isn’t a major surprise, the game will be in fairly early stages of development and shouldn’t offer more than just a short video showing off some cut scenes and game features. However, Overkill could shock fans by showing a game that is further along in development than many folks assume.
Overkill’s The Walking Dead will be a cooperative shooter game set in The Walking Dead’s universe. Here is how VG24/7 describes the upcoming game:
"“It contains elements of action, role-playing, survival horror and stealth, as players try to survive a zombie-filled Washington. The game is slated for a 2016 release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.”"
Alongside Overkill’s The Walking Dead game, there will also be a feature on Payday 2 at E3. Payday 2 is scheduled for release on June 12, 2015 and will be available on PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Fans hoping to get a glimpse of what Ovekill’s The Walking Dead game will be like should be able to get an impression of the gameplay and some points of the story from the combination of Payday 2 and the showing at E3.
We’ll have more details on the game as they become available.
