New Walking Dead Season Six Poster is Epic: But I Won’t Make Predictions From It

The Walking Dead Season Six Poster, featuring Morgan and Rick front and center, is out for Comic Con and it’s generating excitement for October! It’s the first look at something new that fans have seen since Season Five ended in May.

It’s only natural for fans to start speculating and making predictions based on this morsel of new information. I won’t be too quick to do that. In my eyes, the poster doesn’t reveal much and what it does reveal could be misleading. One could interpret Rick and Michonne being out of their constable uniforms as them giving up their positions in Alexandria and a big rift having formed between the two factions in residence. But perhaps, it’s just an artistic, aesthetic choice of the poster maker. The blacks and dark colors of the clothing make a better visual.

Father Gabriel is on the side with the other Alexandrians. Surely he and Morgan have bonded over the all life is precious concept. But, how can Father Gabriel and Deanna and Morgan reconcile their philosophies? And why isn’t Aaron standing with Daryl? Maybe the sides just needed more balance visually?

Does the angry face on Morgan mean he won’t side with Rick against the wolves? What about Jessie? Why is she standing with Alexandria? As always, The Walking Dead posters and promotions present more questions than they do answers. They are not going to just give away things! Haven’t we learned? But we can’t help it! I tend to let the questions hang and let things play out on screen. I think that I’m a rare minority though. I think it’s because I would drive myself crazy if I let myself start to speculate. I like the mystery. And I’m usually not disappointed.

We’re you excited to see the poster? I was thrilled! I think The Walking Dead shows so much care and artistry in its promotion and love of the show and the fans.
