I thirst for information about Season Six as much as any other Walking Dead fan. I just don’t make predictions in the same way, I guess. I like to wonder. I just figured that out. I like to keep myself in the question phase. In the I wonder what’s going to happen phase.

I’ve written in the past about not liking spoilers or speculation. People have told me they understand the spoilers part , but not the speculation. I must make some kind of speculation or predictions. I’ve thought about it and I really don’t.  But I couldn’t figure out why. People text me and say, who do you think might die next and I say, I don’t know. I really don’t know.  I’d have to just guess. I have no idea what the writers are going to do next. And I derive no pleasure in saying, I knew it!

But I love The Walking Dead. I must think about the future of the stories and the characters somehow. Mustn’t I?  Well, I think I figured it out. I wonder! I wonder if Rick will get along with Morgan. I wonder if Abraham will apologize to Eugene. Spoiler alert:  Yay! He did! I wonder if we’ll learn more about Rosita. I wonder if we can trust Olivia and if she’ll become a part of our group. I wonder if Abraham  and Michonne might become better friends after his little Dalai Lama speech to her at the party. I wonder if little Sam will help Carol become less of a robot. I wonder about the wolves and that Negan guy.  I do a lot of wondering.

I hope, too. I hope for certain characters to be certain ways or do certain things. I wonder and I hope.

I don’t try to predict or read the writers’ minds. I don’t try to find clues from the trailers or posters to place bets on the show like zombie off track betting. The walker races are all longshots. It’s fine with me that others place their bets to win, place or show or even on trifecta boxes. I just find the prediction process about as scientific as betting on the horse with your mom’s name or because you like the jockey’s colors.
