"A: You packing different steel nowadays?M: Yeah.A: Live by it. You die by it and eat potato puffs by it. Pray to God you don’t have to use it again. Pray to God you don’t get used to not using it again. It’s on your back, even when it’s off your back. M: How much have you had to drink? (both chuckle)A: I am a large man, and I have had many beers to make up for that. And you know what? By that brave act I have, I have come to realize things have worked out pretty damn well for me. How ’bout you, what have YOU done?M: I put on this dress.A: Try again."

It was during this exchange that I first got a hint of an Abraham and Michonne connection.

Rick and Michonne have such a strong bond and have now even clashed and reconnected realizing they’ll always support each other and Rick shouldn’t keep secrets from Michonne anymore. But just as what may or may not be the case with Daryl and Carol, too much time may have passed and their connection may be too deeply rooted in friendship and not built to branch out into romance.

Abraham and Rosita seem to have grown apart and I believe Rosita needs to free herself from Abraham now that Eugene has confessed his lie. It doesn’t seem that Eugene’s lie and Rosita should be linked, but to me they are. Rosita seemed to have a similar intuitive capability as Eugene in knowing what Abraham needed to feel supported and encouraged in his role as protector and guardian of the saviour of the entire world. But Rosita doesn’t need to do that anymore.  She needs her independence. She needs the other women and she needs to find her own place in the group. She knows that and Abraham knows that.

Abraham and Michonne both lost children and significant others. They both shared the experience in the church and the train car. But they are pretty new to each other. They have a better chance for that romantic tension that can come from someone you know, but don’t know well yet. Someone who’s  still a bit of a mystery to you.

I loved that little Shakespearean live by the sword, die by the sword speech he gave to her. It was perfect. It had just the right amount of insight into her psyche mixed with the perfect amount of humor. He also let her know that things were better for him and he wasn’t wrapped up or angry and upset about Eugene and that he approved of her chosing to insist on coming to Alexandria. He was a man. Not a man on a mission any more. And he was able to convey all that with just a few words about beer and bravery!

She was able to draw attention to her femininity by pointing out that she put on the dress from Alexandria in answer to his question about what she has done to start to realize things are working out okay so far.

And in the most romantic line of all, “Try again.” Abraham flirted by being cryptic!

Am I the only one who found that exchange flirty?  Am I the only Abrachonne shipper? Discuss in the comments section.
