Fear The Walking Dead Season One Premiere Date Announced
By Adam Carlson
One of the major perks of Wizard World’s 2015 Comic-Con is that we are treated to a heaping amount of information about everything in The Walking Dead’s universe. That universe is getting a little bigger this year with the addition of Fear The Walking Dead to AMC’s lineup. An announcement was made at today’s panel for Fear The Walking Dead that the should help get fans more excited.
Today, the premiere date for Fear The Walking Dead was established. You can watch the show on AMC beginning Sunday, August 23rd at 9 pm EST.
Considered to be a “companion series” to The Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead will be set in the same timeline as the original show. However, this show will be set much closer to the initial stages of the outbreak in California. It will follow the staff and students of a school as they work together to figure out what is going on in the world around them.
The first season is scheduled to be six episodes long and is expected to focus on building up the characters for when the proverbial poop is going to hit the fan. There are rumors that Fear The Walking Dead will eventually meet up with The Walking Dead in the timeline and that there will be some crossover, but that is likely not to happen in a significant fashion until much later in the show’s future.
Make sure to tune in when Fear The Walking Dead premieres on AMC. As with The Walking Dead, the crew here at Undead Walking will be following this new companion show as well. We’ll be doing live tweets, previews, reviews and everything else that we’ve been doing with AMC’s hit zombie drama in the past.
