Fear The Walking Dead: Meet the cast and characters

With Fear The Walking Dead’s debut on AMC just a little over a month away, there’s no surprise that details have leaked out about what the show will be about and how the setting will impact that.

At San Diego Comic Con, we got a lot more information about who these characters will be and which actors will be playing them, which were documented by a live blog of the panel by The Nerdist. When you combine that with the facts that we already know, we can piece together many of the relationships that exist between these characters and where many of the issues could come up.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at the known characters and the actors who will play them on Fear The Walking Dead.

The Main Characters

Kim Dickens (Madison), Cliff Curtis (Travis), Alycia Debnam-Carey (Alicia), and Frank Dillane (Nick). Fear The Walking Dead photo shoot – People Magazine /

Madison (Kim Dickens)

As the high school guidance counselor, she respects authority and structure. She’s the single mother of two children, Nick and Alicia. The father of her children had passed away, but now she is engaged to Travis.

Travis (Cliff Curtis)

Engaged to Madison, Travis considers himself to be a handy individual. He can fix most things. In addition to that, he teaches English at the school were Madison is the guidance counselor. He has an ex-wife named Liza, with whom he shares custody of their son, Chris. Travis isn’t well prepared nor does he plan ahead well.

Nick (Frank Dillane)

Nick is the son of Madison. He was a college student before flunking out of university. Many of his problems are because of an addiction to drugs. Nick is a bit lost following the death of his father. He is observant to the world crumbling around him.

Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey)

Madison’s daughter Alicia is the polar opposite as Nick. She’s an ambitious girl who is doing well in school. She’s currently dating a boy named Matt, who is an athlete. Alicia constantly butts heads with Nick. There is a warning that things could get dark for her.

Liza (Elizabeth Rodriquez)

She’s Travis’ ex-wife. She’s a free spirit, yet she is still trying to pick up the pieces after her divorce. However, Liza still keeps her Bohemian-type lifestyle while focusing on going to school for nursing.

Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie)

He’s the son of Travis and Liza. He’s very bitter that his mother and father have separated. He isn’t willing to forgive them for separating.

Other Characters

Tobias, Fear The Walking Dead – AMC /

Tobias (Lincoln A. Castellanos): A high school senior who follows social media closely.
Daniel (Reuben Blades): an immigrant who moved to Los Angeles to start over as a barber.
Griselda (Patricia Reyes Spindola): Daniel’s wife.
Ofelia (Mercedes Mason): the daughter of Daniel. She is very proud of her family.
Bethany (Sandrine Holt): a very confident doctor who knows her stuff.
Matt (Maestro Harrell): student athlete and boyfriend of Alicia.
Strand (Coleman Domingo): A mysterious man who is very intelligent and sophisticated.
????? (Shawn Hatosy): A former member of the armed forces with a soft heart.

While there will also be other characters on the show, getting familiar with these individuals could help to get a jump-start for when Fear The Walking Dead premieres on AMC on August 23rd. Be sure to check your local listings for time and availability.
